What you're seeing: every block on the Offerings to Cthulhu chain has a single coinbase transaction — the one that mints the block reward. The address that receives it is whoever (or whatever pool) mined the block. We pull every coinbase from the explorer's index, drop the one belonging to the public Miningcore pool QVoWcEfW7zYD7RzNNX2rxJygjtJ1szGyPL, and rank everything else as "solo activity."
How to read the tiles: blocks observed is every block found in the window, regardless of who found it. pool is what our Miningcore pool minted; solo is everyone else. distinct solo addrs is how many unique addresses won at least one block. If solo blocks ≈ distinct addrs, every block went to a different address — that's a fingerprint, not a coincidence (see below).
The rotation pattern: if 1000 independent humans each ran their own miner, you'd expect roughly 475 birthday-paradox collisions in a 24h window. When we see zero repeats, it means one operator is calling getnewaddress per block and crediting every winning share to a fresh address — the signature of a ckpool-solo-style solo mining service. The leaderboard then describes a single aggregator, not many independents.
What this will reveal over time: the 24h window is noisy. As you scroll to 7d and 30d, a few things emerge:
• Persistent solo operators — addresses that find multiple blocks across the window — surface to the top of the leaderboard. The fresh-address rotators stay flat at 1.
• The pool-vs-solo share line stabilizes around the true hashrate split, since per-window noise averages out.
• Newly-online miners are visible the moment their first block lands. Drop-offs are visible when a familiar address goes quiet for >24h.
Caveats. The OFF chain accepts addresses that have never broadcast a tx. We see only the receiving side. We cannot link an address to an IP, a name, or a region. A high-ranking address could be one person with a CPU farm, a cooperative, or — most often — the payout sink of a solo-pool we don't operate. The page tells you where the rewards land; figuring out who's behind each address is a separate exercise.
